#365 Research on Motivation for Exercise as We Age

Fitness Friday News, and Interview Series

Welcome to The Not Old Better Show, I’m host Paul Vogelzang, and this is episode 365. Today’s show is brought to you by Heaven’s Maid.

Our show today is part of our Fitness Friday series, and it’s another great one in our Fitness Friday programs. We’ll be hearing from returning guest, Sabrena Jo, who’ll join us in just a minute and speak to us about healthy aging exercises. And, we’ve got an excellent, but brief interview with Tom Church, MD about how to get motivated for exercise and remaining motivated, all without a pill or focus on waist size, but all about you. We’ll be speaking with both, but first our Fitness Friday News…

What’s worse than losing your life? Losing a few bucks, apparently.
According to research conducted by the
American Heart Association, threatening coronary-heart-disease patients with money loss could help motivate them to exercise more, according to new research published Journal of the American Heart Association.

Creating financial motivation for healthy behavior isn’t a brand-new concept. Insurance companies, for example, already use financial rewards programs to encourage folks to move more.
