#407 Ford V. Ferrari – Review and Conversation
The Not Old Better Show- Movies Series
Welcome to the Not Old Better Show. I’m Paul Vogelzang, and this is episode #407.
As part of our movie reviews for adults, today we’re talking about the new film, Ford V. Ferrari. We’ve all likely seen the ads, promos, trailers, etc., for the new ‘Ford v. Ferrari,’ movie. I saw the movie yesterday, and want to share my review, plus two recordings from the film and from Matt Damon about his role. Let’s listen as the cast talks about “how Ford needs to think like Ferrari,” and what victory at Le Mans will mean to Ford.
It’s a real ‘David and Goliath” story, and one where America shines brightly, but not overly so, in a ‘jingoistic’ manner, but genuinely tough, smart, and resilient. Just the way we love movies to be. The characters are reluctant heroes, people who live by a strong moral code all their own, often idiosyncratic, sometimes less than law-abiding, but true to their values. We want to be moved, to cry to laugh… to be inspired. This movie is all of that and more.”
This is a great date night film, so I suggest going early, and try seeing it in IMAX. As a matter of fact, I’m going again, and this time to our local IMAX, taking my son for a car flick for the family.
My thanks to EPK for help with the Matt Damon clip, which isn’t original to me. My thanks to you, our wonderful Not Old Better Show audience. Talk About Better. The Not Old Better Show. Thanks, everybody.
